Zucchini Orange Muffins

New Addition to the Muffin Menu!

Muffins are the best snack... EVER! They go well with tea too. Or with your morning coffee. Or right out of your backpack sneakily in school even though your teacher strictly enforces NO FOOD IN CLASS. (Worst rule ever, am I right?)

Anyways, these muffins have the awesome power of zucchini in them, as well as a lovely hint of orange zest which makes them so bright in flavour, and moist in crumb. They also come speckled with chocolate chips, which doesn't hurt either. If you would prefer nuts or raisins, or au-natural, your wish is our command.
$10 for a dozen, $15 for two dozen. Muffins rule!

Applesauce Oatmeal Cookies with Maple Glaze

New addition to the cookie menu!
Looking for a cookie to be your friend this Autumn? These Applesauce Oatmeal cookies are a perfect match! The flavours of apple, oats and maple will comfort you when there is that certain chill in the air... or any time really, let's get serious.

They come drizzled with a sweet maple glaze, but if you are not one for glazes just let us know! Un-glazed is totally an option. Which also makes them feel more acceptable as a breakfast food... :)
$10 for a dozen cookies, and a dozen times to say, "Oh man these are so yummy" and/or "Gosh darn I love the fall" and/or "What? You don't eat cookies for breakfast? Umm... me neither"

Chocolate Ginger Cookies

So gingerbread is kind of a Christmas thing... BUT THESE ARE SO GOOD hence I made some in the middle of August. These chocolate-studded ginger cookies indeed are perfect for cozying up by the fire with a mug of hot chocolate on a cold winters eve... but they are totally available all year long. Some things are too good to only have once a year.

YUM! These here are one of my all time favourites :)
The cookies are flavoured with REAL ginger and cocoa powder, and chocolate chunks are stirred in to make things a little more intriguing. You can buy them any time during the year, $20 for 2 dozen.

It is never too early for a little chocolatey-ginger-magic!

Blueberry Pie

 Now serving... Blueberry Pie!
To me, blueberries are like the essence of summer. I eat copious amounts of them, by the handful. I cannot stuff them into my face fast enough. They are already so good fresh in the summer that you don't have to do anything to make them taste better... But, I did anyways. :)
AND GUESS WHAT. They are still awesome!! Here we have blueberries in the starring role of a fresh, summery, scrumptious blueberry pie. Serve with some vanilla ice cream, and you can't get much better than that.
We are proud to add blueberry pie as our newest addition to the menu! This pie comes in Mini (top picture), Medium (pictured just above+below) and Large (not shown).
A fair warning: Due to the extra labour of creating a lattice crust atop the mini pies, there may be a small extra charge. But oh so worth it because they are kind of THE CUTEST THINGS EVER.
Prices are available upon request.

Hope your summer is brimming with blueberries,

Cake Pops

We are pleased to introduce our latest addition to the menu: Cake Pops! If you are new to the wonderful world of cake pops, they are almost like a cake-truffle-on-a-stick. And we all know anything "on-a-stick" is a good idea.

Cake pops are a superb choice for parties, because they are bite size and look pretty darn adorable! The possibilities for flavours and decorating are limitless. The cuties shown here were a Chocolatey-Swirl flavour. Some were dipped in white chocolate and coated with chocolate sprinkles or chocolate drizzle, and the others were dunked in a semi-sweet chocolate.

We make cake pops in virtually any flavour of cake you want, and decorate them accordingly. Have a theme for your party or gathering? Let us know and we can come up with a cake pop for you! Our basic cake pops start at $12.50 for 1 dozen pops.
Make your dessert table pop! (ooh that was bad.) But seriously, these are a real crowd pleaser. Try them out, and fall in love.

Recipe Feature: Grand Granola

So, granola in my house is always in high demand. As soon as we run out, the Ma and Pa are on my case requesting more! We used to always have store bought granola on hand, but as soon as I figured out how easy it is to make homemade granola (and how much more fantastically delicious it is), we have never gone back. I make it about once every two weeks. And then it is gone. And people complain. But no fear, all you have to do is make more, and the complaints disappear... magic...

There are about this many ways to make granola:
9834573985487302873408571098380500999999359874589.
And they are all delicious.
It is not really a recipe, but a ratio. Put in whatever you have. And if you don't like the ratio, put in a different amount. Yes?

Perhaps a little more guidance would be useful...This is how I make mine!
3 cups oats, a lot of chopped nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts, pecans, pine nuts), handful of seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, flax), healthy stuff (wheat/oat bran, wheat germ), shredded coconut.
Mix it up!
In a saucepan over low heat, melt together 1/2 cup of any type of oil (olive, canola, sunflower, coconut etc.) with 1/2 cup of any type of sweetener (honey, maple syrup, agave nectar etc.)
Once the sweetener and the oil have combined, take off the heat and add whatever flavourings/spices you like. My favourite is vanilla and cinnamon.
Pour this over the oat mixture, stir to coat and season with a pinch of salt. Bake one a rimmed baking sheet @ 350 for 15ish minutes, stirring every 5 minutes or so. (*Note!* bake in two batches, as there will be too much on the pan if you do it all at once, and it will not toast evenly. I learned this the hard way.)

Once everything is golden and toasty, pour the granola out of the pan and spread onto parchment paper (or else it will stick to the pan!) At this point, if you are a fan of dried fruit, sprinkle it over the top. I myself, am a big fan. I usually use a mix of raisins and dried cranberries. Chopped dried apricots are also quite pleasant.

Let your masterpiece cool completely, then store in a glass jar so you can admire your handy-work. Only after you taste some for a quality control check. Which is probably the most important step... of any cooking experiment. Am I right?

Enjoy your own homemade granola! Or, if you prefer, buy a jar of mine! It is pretty grand if I do say so myself.
And I do.
